Environmental Air

An Air to Air Heat Recovery System in the new Kilton Library will make sure that the process of bringing fresh air into the building does not mean that the heated or cooled air inside the building will simply be exhausted to the outside.
A heat exchanger will allow fresh air coming into the building to be heated or cooled by the air being exhausted from the building. The incoming air and the outgoing air "exchange" heat as they pass each other in a heat recovery system to minimize the energy required to keep the building at a comfortable temperature. The air inside the building can be changed as many times an hour as is required for the health of its occupants without losing all the energy it took to heat or cool that air in the first place.
